The City of Temecula invites the community to join us for a Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Sunday, November 11, 2012, 10:00am at the Temecula Civic Center located at 41000 Main Street, Temecula, CA. Mayor Washington stated, “I have wanted the City to organize an event to honor our Nation’s heroes and am looking forward to acknowledging the brave men and women protecting our freedoms.” The Veteran’s Day Ceremony will serve to honor members of all branches of military and will include a Color Guard by the Temecula Valley Young Marines, remarks by City Officials and taps performed by Great Oak High School trumpeter Garrett Sanders. The event will also serve as the official unveiling of the City’s Military Banner Program, the first of which will be displayed in the Civic Center Quad on Veteran’s Day. Council Member and Temecula Community Services District President Jeff Comerchero stated, “I am very pleased that the City has created this special military banner program. To know that we can help Temecula families as they honor these brave men and women is indeed gratifying. The banners themselves are a beautiful addition to our roadscapes and the program should be a source of pride for us all.”
Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.
